The Dragon Chronicles' purports to be a faithful reproduction of the journal kept by the Great Wizard, Septimus Agorius, detailing his attempts to hunt down and slay a number of malevolent dragons in accordance with the wishes of his dying King.
In this daunting task he is assisted not only by the King's fiercest warriors but also by sundry artists and assistants whose job it is to keep records and gather as much information as possible about these mysterious beasts. Should the mission fail, the King reasons, at least others who are brave enough to follow in their footsteps might benefit from the knowledge they have garnered on their travels.
