When Jimm Juree is forced to quit the city for a fishing village on the Gulf of Siam, she's convinced her career as a crime reporter is over. After all, what crimes could possibly take place in such an out-of-the-way location. No sooner does she think this than two skeletons are found during the excavation of a well. They are sitting side by side in a rotting Volkswagen Kombi, and one of them, curiously, is wearing a hat. Then, shortly afterwards, a monk is murdered in the nearby town of Lang Suan. On top of bizarre connections between this killing and several others around the globe, where do the newly uncovered skeletons fit in. Suddenly Jimm's new life becomes more exciting, and, before long, a great deal more dangerous.
