John Houghton is the award-winning international author of the Oswain Tales, a five of volume fantasy adventure series designed for 8 to 12-year-old readers.  The first volume, Hagbane's Doom, is also available as a musical for school performance.  John's also writes fantasy for adults, as well as a variety of  books on  lifestyle, ethics, theology and philosophy. A number of his books are available in a variety of translations.

John and his wife, Jan, have three adult children and eight grandchildren. His current hobbies include running, badminton, painting and drawing, wood turning, vegetable growing, walking and DIY. He is a founder member of Wessex Writers, chairman of Bournemouth Festival of Words, a broadcaster and speaker, and active in his local church.

John is available to visit primary schools and to teach creative writing skills to Key Stage 2 students, or to help children taking part in Hagbane’s Doom – the Musical, particularly within a 100 mile range of Bournemouth.
