Elissa Jayne de Heer (Gunn) was born in Sydney and spent periods of her childhood in Perth and Auckland, New Zealand. She has travelled across most of Europe and wrote this, her first novel, when living in Yorkshire, England, for 18months. She has a Bachelor of Arts (University of Auckland) and a Master of Arts (University of Sydney). She current,y resides in Hunters Hill, Sydney with her husband and daughter Matilda who is almost two. Elissa is completing a Bachelors of Teaching (University of Sydney) and looking forward to teaching English and History to high schoolers this coming year.
